Malahide United trials next week

Malahide United will host a series of trials at Gannon Park on the Coast Road next week.

The U-9s up to the U-12 age group have their trials set for Wednesday, July 1 and Friday, July 3 from 7pm to 8.30pm, while the U-13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 sides will be in action on Saturday July 4 from 10am to 12pm and again on Monday, July 6 from 7pm to 8.30pm.

Lucan United trials next week

Lucan United will hold trials for new players  for their U-11, U-12 and U-13 sides at Airlie Height son Saturday, July 11.

The U-11 premier side (1998) will play from 11am to 12pm.

The U-12 (1997) premier and second team will try out from 12pm to 1pm and the U-13 A1 (1996) and second team complete the trials between 1pm and 2pm.

Premier League newbies Burnley for Hibernia Trophy

Newly-promoted Premier League club, Burnley FC, will visit Dublin to compete in St Joseph’s Boys’ prestigious underage Hibernia Trophy Tournament in August.
Burnley, together with nine other famous clubs, including an FAI select, Utrecht (Holland), Lyngby (Denmark), and Nottingham Forest will take part in the international football tournament that forms part of the Festival of World Cultures, which attracts over 500,000 to Dun Laogaire every year.

Tag Aid at Old Belvedere tomorrow

tagaidOn Saturday, June 27th, 2009 Old Belvedere Rugby club will host Tag Aid, a one-day, tag rugby blitz in aid of GOAL, to help with their current projects on June 27.

The event has been organised by the members of the Leinster Women’s Rugby Committee and Leinster Rugby, with all proceeds going towards GOAL ’s emergency projects.

The cost to register a team is €250. There is no limit on the number of players on each squad so the more the merrier!

There will be a BBQ running throughout the day to keep the energies up as well as an auction, a raffle and great music at the tag after-party in the clubhouse.

Stephen Roche Grand Prix event next week

IRELAND’S fastest road-race cyclists are gearing up for the ever-popular Stephen Roche Grand Prix which hits the streets of Meadowmount, Ballinteer, next Wednesday, June 24.

The event is once again part of the Dundrum Summer Festival and the accessibility for race fans, along with the summer evening date, ensures a carnival atmosphere for what is one of the highlights of the Dublin cycling calendar.
As well as the senior race, the stars of tomorrow will be in action with races scheduled for Under-12, Under-14 and Under-16 ahead of the main event. The Irish National Criterium Championship race gets under way at 7.15pm on Wednesday, June 24.
