St Brigid’s Club Notes

A terrific performance from our inter footballers saw them crowned Junior A champions, defeating St Jude’s in the final. Well done to Noel, Dave Alan and Damien. It was great to see such good support in Parnell Park.
Hard luck to the Junior B footballers who lost out to St Vincent’s in their final. The lads never got going at all.
Good championship wins for our Senior and Senior 2 footballers over St Jude’s and Kilmacud Crokes.
U-16 hurlers played out a thrilling championship quarter-final draw with St Vincent’s after extra-time.
U-15 hurlers had a good league win over Castleknock. U-12 footballers had a very good win over Erin’s Isle. U-12Bs beat Scoil Ui Chonail. U-11s beat St Peregerine’s. U-15 footballers face Ballyboden in championship this Sunday at 11.30am in Cherryfield.
Minor footballers face St Pat’s (P) in championship on Sunday at 10.30am in Russell Park.
Senior hurlers face Lucan in their final championship group game at 5.45pm in Russell Park.
Inter hurlers face Thomas Davis at 5.45pm on Saturday in Russell Park.
Junior hurlers face O’Dwyers on Sunday at 10.30am in Balbriggin.
Hard luck to Eoin Kennedy and Egin Jenson who lost out narrowly in the All-Ireland 60×30 Semi-Final.
Club Lotto in Russell Park this Thursday with a jackpot of €7,400.
It’s that time of the year again, All-Ireland Football Final Forecast Competition. Anyone who feels they can fill or partially fill a Forecast card please contact John Fleming.

St Brigid’s Club Notes

Another historic day for the club when Deirdre Murphy lifted the All-Ireland U-16 ladies’ football trophy in a cracking victory over Kerry. Congratulations to players Deirdre Murphy, Sophie Freeman, Sarah Hawkshaw and mentors Ken and Judy Murphy.  Well done to the junior camogie team who reached the junior A final defeating Whitehall. The final vs Plunkett’s is this Saturday in Clonshaugh, with time TBC.
Hard luck to the senior camogie on their semi-final defeat.
Well done to Eoin Kennedy and Egin Jenson who advanced to the All-Ireland 60×30 doubles semi-finals. Best of luck to Eoin this Saturday in All-Ireland singles semi-final vs Gavin Buggy.
Hard luck to Barry Cahill, Paddy Andrews, Kevin Bonner and Dublin on their semi-final loss to Cork.
Hard luck to Aodhan McEnerney and Daire Plunkett on their semi-final loss to Galway.
A big week of football ahead, with five of our six adult teams still in contention.
Our senior 2 footballers face Good Counsel on Friday in Kiltipper at 7.30pm. Seniors face St Anne’s at 6pm in St Finian’s Newcastle. Junior Cs face Wild Geese in Oldtown on Sunday at 10.30am.
Inter and junior B footballers face St Monica’s and Parnell’s in their semi-finals at 4.30pm and 6pm in Balgriffin on Sunday. Big support needed for all games.
Club lotto is currently on its summer break until September 2.

St Brigid’s Club Notes

THE 50th anniversary Mass of Father Myles Russell, eldest son of founder Tom Russell, takes place on Sunday July 4 in at 3pm in St Brigids’ Church, Blanchardstown.
All members new and old are invited to attend.
Best of luck to Philip Ryan and the Dublin minor footballers this Tues vs Kildare in the Leinster Replay in Navan.
Hard luck to the senior camogie team who lost out to Portobello in the Open Cup Final.
Reminder to all members that players who haven’t paid their membership will no longer will be allowed play or train.
Summer Camp dates are as follows,  July 19-23, August 16-20 and 23-27.

St Brigid’s Club Notes

Congratulations to Sean Murray, Gavin McIntyre, Cian Mullins and Alan McCarrick and the Dublin U-21 footballers on their Leinster final truimph over Westmeath.
Well done to Eoin Kennedy who reached the final of the Ektelon/WPH Fireball Classic in New Mexico, USA. Eoin knocked out two of the top three seeds en route to the final.
Well done to Willie Bourke, Mick Cussen and Cian O’Mahony who had a great win with Fingal on Sunday.
A special club night will take place on Wednesday, April 21, in Crowne Plaza Hotel, Blanchardstown Centre.
The club is developing a strategy for the coming years to get our juvenile section back blossoming. Among the guest speakers on the night are Billy Morgan (Nemo Rangers), Paul McGettigan (Corofin), Padraig McDonald (Kilmacud Crokes) and John McEntee (Crossmaglen Rangers). All members are urged to attend.
The inter hurlers had a great win over Fingallians in the league. The senior hurlers face Kilmacud Crokes this Saturday at 6pm in Russell Park.
The junior hurlers face Castleknock at 11am in Russell Park on Sunday.
The club lotto takes place in The Vineyard every Thursday, with a jackpot of €15,000.

St Brigid’s Club Notes

The sports quiz fundraiser for the juvenile section takes place this Saturday at 9pm in Russell Park.
The highly-anticipated fight night was a huge success. There was a huge turnout, with Plunkett’s winning 7-4 on the night. Special thanks to Bren Galvin, Willie Bourke and Seaghan Kearney on their superb organisation of the event.
Well done to Sean Murray, Gavin McIntyre, Cian Mullins, Alan McCarrick and the Dublin U-21 footballers on the Leinster semi-final win over Carlow.
Well done to Tadhg Branagan, Oisin Finnerty, Dylan Byrne and Jack O’Neil, who were selected to represent Dublin at inter county handball.
Special mentors’ night will take place on Wednesday, April 21. There will be several special guests in attendance.
There is a full round of adult league games on Sunday. Senior footballers face St Peregrine’s at 10.30am. Senior 2s face Round Towers at 10.30am in Russell Park. Inters face Garda at 10.30am in Westmanstown. Junior 1s face St Mary’s at 12pm in Saggart.

Well done to Eoin Kennedy who advanced to the All-Ireland 40×20 handball semi-finals.

Senior footballers, inter footballers and junior 1 footballers had good league wins over St Mark’s, St Jude’s and Naomh Olaf respectively.
Senior hurlers open their league campaign this Sunday vs Lucan at 11 in the 12th Lock. This game may be moved to Monday night so check the website before travelling. Inter hurlers face Craobh Chiarain at 11am in Clonshaugh while the Junior’s face Scoil Ui Chonail at 3 in Clontarf Rd.
Club lotto takes place in Russell Park this Thursday with a Jackpot of €15,000.

The senior hurlers captured the AHL 2 league title in commanding style beating Na Fianna. Well done to all and the best of luck in AHL1.
Well done to Sean Murray, Gavin McIntyre, Cian Mullins, Alan McCarrick and the Dublin U-21 footballers on their hard-earned victory over Louth. Well done to Sherry Mannion and the Dublin camogie team who beat Wexford.
Another great win for the Dublin footballers with Kevin Bonner playing very well.
Dublin ladies’ footballers beat Kerry with Elaine Kelly, Colleen Barrett, Shorca Furlong, Noelle Healy, Ailish McKenna and Katie Murphy all featuring.
Best of luck to Eoin Kennedy in his All-Ireland quarter final.
