St Oliver Plunkett’s Club Notes

Commiserations to our Junior B Footballers on their Championship semi-final defeat to Skerries Harps.
The team have done the club particularly proud this season: being promoted to Division 7 and progressing as far as the B Championship semi-final only one season after capturing the C Championship crown.
Congratulations to our Senior Footballers on their Championship fourth-round victory over Ballymun Kickhams.
Best of luck to all our teams over another big Championship week: Senior camogie have Championship game against Good Counsel in Lawless Park on Tuesday 14 at 7pm.
Senior Hurlers have vital Championship match against St. Vincent’s in Pairc Naomh Uinsionn on Saturday, September 18 at 5:45pm.
Junior hurlers have Championship relegation play-off against Commercials in Martin Savage Park on Sunday, September 19 at 10:30am.
Minor Footballers have Championship against Round Towers (C) in Clondalkin Community Centre on Sunday, September 19 at 10:30am.

St Oliver Plunkett’s Club Notes

THE Club’s Golden Jubilee Golf Classic will take place this Friday, July 2, at Castleknock Golf Club.
Tee boxes and greens can be sponsored for €100.
Tee times are reserved from 8:00am – 4:00pm.
A four-person team costs €300 before 12:50pm and €400 afterwards.
All support is greatly appreciated.

Congratulations to Jade Carey, Lizzy McSweeny, Megan O’Reilly, Deirdre Dillon and the Dublin Under-16 Camogie Team who defeated Wexford to progress to the Leinster final against Kilkenny next Saturday.

St Oliver Plunkett’s Club Notes

Thanks to all who helped make our Annual Feile Race Night a great success.
There will be a Social Night Table Quiz in aid of our junior C footballers in the clubhouse this Thursday, April 8 from 8.30pm. All support greatly appreciated.
Congratulations to Seán McGuinness and the Dublin Under-21 footballers on their Leinster final triumph over Westmeath.
Best of luck to our junior B and C footballers in their respective cup quarter-finals this weekend and to our senior camogie in their first senior league game in Martin Savage Park this week. All support greatly appreciated.
As part of the club’s 50th anniversary celebrations, all members are invited to attend a special recording of the famous RTE Radio program, Céilí House, in the clubhouse on Monday, April 19 at 7.30pm.
Also, as part of the club’s celebrations, the opening of the clubhouse museum will take place on Wednesday, April 21 at 8pm.

St Oliver Plunkett’s Club Notes

The highly anticipated Fight Night between Plunkett’s and Brigid’s takes place on Tuesday,  March 16 in St Brigid’s GAA Club. Tickets, priced at €20, are now on sale from the club shop and bar. Tickets are expected to sell out quickly, so early purchase is advisable. Stay tuned to the website and our Facebook page for further details, including the Line Up of Fighters.

Well done to Sean McGuinness and the Dublin U-21 footballers who won their Leinster Championship  quarter-final against Louth after extra-time on Saturday.

The Jig Factor DVD is now on sale in the club shop and bar, priced at €10.

The club Golf Society’s first outing will take place on Friday, March 12 in Castlewarden Golf Club. Tee times 12pm to 1.30pm.  Time sheet is behind bar. Membership fee of €30 for 2010 is now due. Captain for 2010 is Brendan Carr, don’t miss his drive-in!

Lorraine Deegan, of Jig Factor fame, has begun Adult Irish Dancing Classes in the Clubhouse on Wednesday nights at 8pm. It’s a great way to keep fit for the Summer and classes are fantastic value at just €30 for six weeks.

The club would like to offer its deepest sympathies to the Quinn family on their recent bereavement.

There will be a special screening of The Jig Factor DVD on Friday, March 5 in the clubhouse which will be open to all members.

There will be a fundraising family night of international wrestling entertainment in the Clubhouse on Saturday, March 6 at 7pm.

Best of luck to our U21 Hurlers in their Championship Final against Ballinteer St. Johns this Saturday 13th @ 2:30pm. Venue T.B.C.

Congratulations to Stuart Mullen & Róisín Lyons on their fantastic performance which claimed the top prize at The Jig Factor fundraiser last Friday night.

The organising committee wish to thank all the Celebrities & Dancers on producing a 1st class performance, to everyone who helped in any way to make the evening such a resounding success & to all those showed their support for the dancers & the fundraising drive.

Congratulations to Grace McDonnell & Darren Hughes on the birth of their baby daugher Layla.

Commiserations to our U21 B Footballers who lost to Clann Mhuire in their Championship Final over the weekend.

However, the team & their mentors, Billy Dumbrell, Paul Wylie & Pat Colgan, have done the Club proud in reaching the final & we’d like to say well done to the lads & everyone involved with the team.
