Ballyboden Wanderers Club Notes

The deadline for submissions to be included in a club publication to mark the 100-year anniversary of the club’s first match is Thursday, September 30. All members, friends and anyone involved in the club at any stage, is asked to contribute what they can. All items will be properly cared for and itemised, with a guarantee of their return to you within a short space of time. Please do what you can to contribute to this important activity by contacting Stephen on 087 978 9843, or by emailing ballybodenwanderers@hotmail.com.
There was no winner of the lotto jackpot. Numbers drawn were 2, 4 and 20; €25 goes to John Power, Liam Heneghan, Ashley O’Shea, Paul Butler. Next week’s jackpot is €800.
Set Dancing continues every Wednesday in the clubhouse at 8.30pm, all welcome.
Cards (25) continues every Tuesday at 8.30 in the Merry Ploughboy, all welcome.
The club will host a seven-a-side on Saturday, September 25 starting at 1.30pm. All men and women welcome to play on mixed teams.

Stars of Erin Club Notes

THE adult team had a great victory in the quarter-final of the championship against Cuala. All the lads played well.
The U-8s were beaten but played very well. The U-10s were also beaten but played very well also.
The weekly draw takes place in the Step Inn every Sunday night, all support greatly welcomed.
Weekly draw results: 1st – Maria Hamilton, 2nd – Olive Kennedy, 3rd – Joe Daly.

Ballinteer St John’s Club notes

Lotto: Numbers drawn were 9, 15, 19,and 22. There was no winner. Next week’s jackpot will be €8,000. Draw winners were Terry Carpenter, €100, Caitriona Kelly  €30 and Chris Duffy €30.
Junior A footballers finished their league with victory over Clontarf.
Seniors lost out to Div 1 side St Mary’s in championship.
Minor hurlers beat Crumlin in championship.
Our thanks to Brian Croke and EBS Dun Laoghaire for minor hurling sponsorship, and to Buffer’s Alley for juvenile camogie challenge on Sunday.
Eve of All Ireland football social in the club bar on Saturday at 9pm, also presentation to Fintan and our representatives on the successful Dublin Under-16 ladies All Ireland champions.
Minor footballers play Raheny on Sunday morning in the championship.
Night at the Dogs and Buster Draw in Shelbourne Park on Saturday, October 9. Tickets are €20 and are on sale through team mentors and in the bar; €750 first prize in Buster draw. This promises to be a great family night out; Contact Martin Tully for race sponsorship and programme advertising opportunities.

Ballyboden St Enda’s Club Notes

Team of the week: Senior A ladies’ football team on winning tenth championship title (Finnian Hyland, Declan O’Reilly, Dan O’Sullivan, Vivian Ruddy)
Championship wins for senior football, Under-16 and both minor hurling teams.
Hurling Section Quiz on September 23.  Super prizes!
Lotto: Numbers drawn were 24, 17, 12 and 9. Jackpot €10,000 was not won. Three match first three winners.
Junior Art Exhibition – The closing date for entries is Sunday, October 10 at 1pm and the children can drop off their work to Katie Daly or one of the other Art Society members at the club on October 9 or 10.
The award ceremony will be held on Sunday, October 17. There are five groups: 6 years and under, 7 to 10 years old, 11 to 13 years old, 14 to 18 years old; Special Needs – Young adults and Children 18 years and under.

Stars Of Erin Club Notes

There was no game for the adult team last week.
Training continues on Tuesday and Thursday in Glencullen at 7.15pm, and the game against St Colmcille’s is on Sunday in Balheary at 11am.
The U-10s had a great game against Ballyboden on Saturday, great performances from both teams.
Weekly draw every Sunday in the Stepp Inn, all support welcome.

Naomh Olaf Club Notes

Congratulations to Fran O’Dwyer and the junior hurlers for their win against St Monica’s and an unbeaten run in the round robin of the championship. Best of luck lads in the quarter-finals.
There was a good crowd in the bar on Sunday creating lots of atmosphere for the Dublin v Cork semi-final. Photos are posted on the website. Well done to Pat Gilroy and the Dublin team for putting it up to Cork and best of luck in their preparations for next year.
Senior footballers play Round Towers in the Intermediate Football Championship at Lawless Park Friday, August 27 at 7.30pm. Please come along and lend your support.
Congratulations to Sandyford Castle Golf Society on their victory in the Ryder Cup at Newbridge on Saturday. It is a great event enjoyed by all and the series is now evenly tied at 2-2.
Congratulations to Kevin Birrane on winning the lotto jackpot of €1,400. The numbers drawn were 4, 7, 10. Next week’s jackpot is €1,000.
