Ballinteer St John’s Club notes

Lotto: Numbers drawn were 9, 15, 19,and 22. There was no winner. Next week’s jackpot will be €8,000. Draw winners were Terry Carpenter, €100, Caitriona Kelly  €30 and Chris Duffy €30.
Junior A footballers finished their league with victory over Clontarf.
Seniors lost out to Div 1 side St Mary’s in championship.
Minor hurlers beat Crumlin in championship.
Our thanks to Brian Croke and EBS Dun Laoghaire for minor hurling sponsorship, and to Buffer’s Alley for juvenile camogie challenge on Sunday.
Eve of All Ireland football social in the club bar on Saturday at 9pm, also presentation to Fintan and our representatives on the successful Dublin Under-16 ladies All Ireland champions.
Minor footballers play Raheny on Sunday morning in the championship.
Night at the Dogs and Buster Draw in Shelbourne Park on Saturday, October 9. Tickets are €20 and are on sale through team mentors and in the bar; €750 first prize in Buster draw. This promises to be a great family night out; Contact Martin Tully for race sponsorship and programme advertising opportunities.

Balinteer St John’s Club Notes

Lotto results for Thursday, February 18: numbers drawn were 3, 9, 12 and 20. No Winner. Prize for 3 numbers won by Derek Webster. Next week jackpot €2,200.

Dermot Desmond is having a quiz night on Thursday, March 11 for the junior C football team trip to Den Haag. €40 entry per team of four.

Congratulations to project manager Michael Hand and the development team on the completion and official opening of the all-weather pitch. It was fitting that club Chairman Kieran Duffy made a presentation to Michael and his wife Mary at the function on Saturday to mark the occasion.

Well done to clubman David Gillick on winning the Aviva 400 metres Grand Prix. Comhghairdeachas a Dáithí.

Club golf society membership fee of €50 now due. First outing Castleknock on Saturday, March 6. Further info from Phil Kenny, Fiachra O Connor, Dermot Quinn or Dermot at the bar.

Sympathy to Peter Byrne and family Woodpark on the death of his brother, Eddie.

Ballinteer St John’s Club Notes

Lotto: Numbers drawn were 2, 9, 13 and 16. There was no winner. Next lotto draw will take place on Thursday, January 21. The jackpot will be €1,200.
Tickets still only €2, are available from the clubhouse, The Coach House and The Ballinteer House.
The function room in Aras Naomh Eoin has become available on the following nights: Friday,  February 19 and Saturday, March 6.
Anyone interested in booking either of these nights should contact Dermot Lee, our clubhouse manager ASAP.

Next week, Dublin’s largest club jackpot is €10,000 and €5,600. Tickets still only €2, are available from the clubhouse, The Coach House and The Ballinteer House.
Congratulations to our minor hurlers, their mentors and all concerned on winning the C championship final against Raheny on Sunday.
Our thanks to UCD and to Ballyboden St Enda’s who helped us prepare for the final by allowing us use their all-weather facilities.
Progress on our own all-weather pitch continues, and all members are asked to support our fundraising draw.
The AGM takes place in Aras Naomh Eoin on Friday, December 11 at 9pm. All nominations, motions and recommendations must be sent to An Runai before November 27.

Congratulations also to our minor hurlers who beat Ballyboden St Enda’s in the minor championship semi-final. Next Sunday at 12.30pm in O’Toole Park, they play Raheny in the final. All support welcome and appreciated.
Progress on our All Weather pitch continues and all members are asked to support our fundraising draw.

Junior Hurlers are into the championship final following their weekend victory over St Vincents. Minor footballers qualified for championsip semi final.  The U-14 Camogie team beat Crokes to qualify for  for the championship final.  Hard luck on the junior footballers, lost to Crokes by 1 point in Murphy Cup final.

Our sympathy to the Richardson family, The Oaks Ballinteer on their recent bereavement.
