Naomh Olaf Club Notes

Congratulations to Fran O’Dwyer and the junior hurlers for their win against St Monica’s and an unbeaten run in the round robin of the championship. Best of luck lads in the quarter-finals.
There was a good crowd in the bar on Sunday creating lots of atmosphere for the Dublin v Cork semi-final. Photos are posted on the website. Well done to Pat Gilroy and the Dublin team for putting it up to Cork and best of luck in their preparations for next year.
Senior footballers play Round Towers in the Intermediate Football Championship at Lawless Park Friday, August 27 at 7.30pm. Please come along and lend your support.
Congratulations to Sandyford Castle Golf Society on their victory in the Ryder Cup at Newbridge on Saturday. It is a great event enjoyed by all and the series is now evenly tied at 2-2.
Congratulations to Kevin Birrane on winning the lotto jackpot of €1,400. The numbers drawn were 4, 7, 10. Next week’s jackpot is €1,000.

Naomh Olaf Club Notes

The mini All-Ireland series was a great success and there was a large attendance at the finals on Friday. Well done to everybody involved, and particularly to coaches Darren Egan and Johnnie McGrath. Photos have been uploaded to the website.
Dates for summer camp are, weeks commencing July 12 to 19 and August 9 to 16. Full details are posted on the front page of the website and application forms are available for download.
Congratulations to Derek Dowling on his recent engagement to Jenny King, of Enniskerry.
Congratulations also to Maylis and Sean Muldoon on the birth of a baby girl, Emma, a first grandchild for Rita and Pat Muldoon, Clonard.

Naomh Olaf Club Notes

There was no winner of the lotto jackpot last week. The numbers drawn were 1, 4 and 31. Next week’s lotto is worth €1,200.
The 5 x €30 winners were Donal MacMahuna c/o Club, D Roe c/o A Kyne Delaney, Mark Ward c/o Club, Sinead Cassidy c/o online and Alan Cunningham c/o Gerry McGrath. The bonus prize was won by Mags Fagan c/o Keith Begley.
Next Saturday night at home our senior hurlers play Naomh Fionnbarra in the league and the same opposition play our junior hurlers next Sunday morning, also at home.
A weekend away, compliments of the Tower Hotel Group in Waterford, including golf, is one of the many prizes on offer in Naomh Olaf’s fundraising golf day will be held on May 21 in Edmonstown Golf Club.
The competition is a singles stableford and the cost is €100 per person. You can sponsor a hole for €75. Included in the €100 is a steak dinner, and there will be lots of other great prizes to be won on the day.

Naomh Olaf Club Notes

THE senior hurlers had a good win away to Erin’s Isle on Sunday, coming from behind to win out by the narrowest margin on a score line of 1-9 to 0-13.
The Golf society will hold a table quiz in the bar, Thursday, March 25 at 8.30pm. Support welcome. There will be a social night in the bar Saturday, April 3 with live music and an Easter raffle with lots of prizes.
Another bag-packing fundraiser in Tesco Dundrum Town Centre will take place on Saturday, April 3 from 10am to 5.30pm. Please contact Debbie McDaid to offer help and support.
Benildus College invites applicants for the Barry O’Brien Sports Scholarship award. Application forms are available for download from the club website, http://www.naomholaf.ie, and the closing date for entry is March 31.
Sympathy is extended to the Daly-Doyle family of Balally Grove on the death of Larry’s mother, Molly Daly. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dilis.

Naomh Olaf Club Notes

THE minor hurlers had a great win at the weekend away to Setanta on a scoreline of 4-4 to 3-17. Congratulations to Stephen O’Connor, Anthony Delaney and the lads.
The first Town Hall meeting will be held on Thursday, March 18 at 9pm in the bar. A commitment to hold two such meetings per year was included in the Strategic Plan. After the meeting will be an open forum without an agenda at which chairman Harry O’Crowley will give an interim report on club activities since the AGM. This will be followed by an open Q&A session.
The Golf Society will hold a table quiz in the bar on Thursday, March 25 at 8.30pm.
Benildus College invites applicants for the Barry O’Brien Sports Scholarship award. Application forms are available for download from the club website http://naomholaf.ie and the closing date for entry is March 31.

Naomh Olaf Club Notes

There was a great turnout for the adult awards’ presentation in the clubhouse on Friday. Congratulations to all the winners and many thanks to Michael Babs Keating for presenting the awards and making it such a special occasion.
The senior footballers continued their recent run of good form with a late win away to St Margaret’s on Sunday.
Adult players are requested to attend a meeting in the clubhouse next Tuesday, March 16 at 9pm to discuss financing of adult games.
The bar will open early at 1pm on St Patrick’s Day with colouring, cookie design, tattoos and sweets for kids. There will be music from 6pm to 8pm and Irish Stew and Irish Coffee’s will be on the menu. Also check out Marto’s Pot of Gold for adults.

Naomh Olaf Club Notes

There was a great turnout for the Juvenile Awards presentation in the clubhouse on Sunday. Congratulations to all the winners and many thanks to Cha Fitzpatrick for presenting the awards and making it such a special occasion. The Adult Presentation ceremony will be held in the clubhouse next Friday, March 4, and the special guest is none other than the Tipperary legend Michael Babs Keating. Proceedings will get underway at 9pm so don’t be late.

The Race night in support of the Haven Haiti House Building Project was a great success and pictures of the event are up on the website.

Many thanks to everyone who attended and good luck to Niall McCaffrey and Ronan McElwain on their trip to Haiti in April.

AFL footballers got their season underway on Sunday in an away match to Parnell and were unfortunate to lose by two points in a tight competitive game. The performance bodes well for the season ahead.

A table quiz will be held in the Bar 8.30pm Thursday, March 4, to raise funds for the proposed bar retrofit. Members are asked to support this event. The town hall meeting is deferred to a later date in order to avoid a clash with the table quiz.

The new website is enjoying great success with more than 1,000 visitors in the first month of operation. Volunteers are needed to assist in web administration so that new content is continually uploaded in order to maintain interest. Anyone willing and able to help out please contact Larry Daly.
