Lucan Sarsfields Club Notes

Eve of All Ireland entertainment in 12th Lock on Saturday night with Mulligan from 9.30pm.
Quiz season starts this week. Come along and enjoy sociable and educational evenings for the benefit of all the teams in the club. Great championship win for senior footballers on Saturday night vs Fingal Ravens, and wins also for intermediate footballers and minor hurlers.
Date for diary: Saturday, September 25 is fun day in 12th Lock, from 1pm to 7pm.  Friday, October 1 sees Life after Santa Ponsa play hosted in 12th Lock.
Saturday, October 23 is Casino Night, being run by professional entertainment company.
Lucan Sarsfields’ golf society next outing is September 18 to Turvey Golf Club. Great value at €25. All welcome. Contact any committee member for more details.  Lucan Club Shop is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7.30 to 8.30pm, and Saturdays from 10.30 to 11.30am.

Two Lotto draws: €20,000 – Numbers drawn were 10, 21, 22 and 23. There was no winner; €2,500 – Numbers drawn were 2, 9, 16 and 20. There was one winner.

Lucan Sarsfields Club Notes

Great championship win for junior A hurlers on Saturday.
Good luck to senior footballers who play Raheny in championship on Thursday in Newcastle at 7.30pm, and to inter footballers who play Cuala in championship in O’Toole Park on Sunday, August 29 10.30am. Good luck also to inter camogie team in championship final next Saturday against Trinity Gaels.
Calling all golfers in club. Lucan Sarsfields’ Golf Society Captain’s Day (Michael O’Grady) is Saturday, August 28 in Castleknock GC 1pm to 3pm. Contact any committee member to get on timesheet.
New members always made very welcome.
Next weekend sees Eoin O’Conghaile play for Dublin’s U-14s in Tony Forrestal tournament. Conor Cuggy and Sean McClelland play in Arrabawn tournament for Dublin U-16 hurlers. Good luck to all the Lucan lads and hope they play well.
Premium ticket draw entries are still available from Paul McGann. Draws are happening every weekend through September.
Lucan club shop reopens on Thursday, September 2 at 7.30pm.

Lucan Sarsfields Club Notes

THE future is bright with 231 players taking part in Street Leagues.

Well done to Lucan Sarsfields players Seanie McCllelland, Chris Crummy and Matthew McCaffrey who helped Dublin minor hurlers beat Wexford in  the Championship.
Great success for Peter Kelly playing for Dublin U-21s in their victory over Kilkenny.
Lucan also had four girls:  Siobhan Grimes, Alison Twomey, Claire Rigney and Kate Whyte in Dublin’s U-16 victory over Wexford in Championship.
Summer camp must be booked by June 30 to avail of discount.

Golf Classic is Friday, July 16 in Lucan GC. A team of 3 costs €200 before 12 noon/ €250 after. Contact Michael O’Grady (2010 Captain) 087-2331983 for details.

Lucan Sarsfields Club Notes

Well done to David Quinn on helping Dublin win the Leinster U-21 title.
Hard luck to Dublin hurlers Johnny McCaffrey and Peter Kelly in the side’s loss to Galway.
Good luck to the senior hurlers in defending their Kevin’s tournament title this weekend.
The next monthly quiz is on April 14 to be supported by juvenile camogie.
Membership subscriptions are now overdue for 2010. No pay, no play strictly enforced this year as players not insured. Mentors asked to submit match reports for website to lucansarsfieldspro@gmail.com.
The Golf Society’s first outing is this Saturday, April 10 at Tulfarris, and the tee-box is booked from 12 to 2pm. Golf only €35, steak meal (optional) an extra €10. New members welcome. Contact Michael Roche (087 2428419) or Michael O’Grady (087 2331983) for details.
Know your sport quiz for charity is on Wednesday, April 21.

Wins at weekend for the senior camogie, minor A football and the junior B hurlers.
Well done to the girls who played on the U-14 Dublin teams who won their championship match vs Wexford at weekend.

1,000 balloons were launched on St Patrick’s Day. Winners will be announced on April 11.

Lucan Sarsfields Club Notes

Battle of the Parishes is on Saturday, March 27. Membership subscriptions are now overdue for 2010. No pay, no play will be strictly enforced this year.
Wins at weekend for inter, junior A and junior B footballers.
The junior footballers get off to a winning start with a good team performance in the AFL 9 league against a very strong Wild Geese side, the  winners of last year’s league, championship and cup.
Well done to the girls who played on the U-14 and U-16 Dublin teams who won championship matches at weekend.
Well done to Johnny McCaffrey and Peter Kelly who played for Dublin hurlers at weekend.
Best of luck to the Lucan team in the All Ireland Trath na gCeist in Croke Park on St Patrick’s Day.
Mentors and players met at Tesco at 2pm for St Patrick’s Day parade, and there was traditional music in the clubhouse from 5pm.
Cake sale from 4pm in function room and launch of 1,000 balloons at 5.30pm. Balloons cost €5 with chance to win €300, €200 or €100.
