Fingallians Club Notes

Hard luck to our senior ladies who were defeated in their first Senior Championship final.
Sure for Men Challenge: Alan Brogan v selection of our adult players on Thursday, September 16 at 8.30pm on the big pitch. http://suremen.ie/ The club are now in the final ten, with a first prize of € 10,000.
Junior Hurling Championship quarter-final: Fingallians v Kilmacud Crokes in Lawless Park, this Sunday at 5.45pm (after the All Ireland final)
Congratulations to girls’ U-11 who beat Na Fianna in the first round of the championship and the U-16 girls who had a big win V Craobh Chiarain. Our U-12Bs also had a good win.
Any players looking for trials for teams between U-10 and U-14 please contact Feargal on fohanrahan@gmail.com or  086 606 3645 for a time and date.
The club is having a colours night on Saturday. DJ, quiz, barbecue, raffle and auction of All Ireland tickets. Members are asked to wear their county or club colours.
The Teen Disco (for 12 to 15 year olds) will be starting back on September 24 (8 to 11pm) after a summer break. Admission €8 with a free soft drink. Adult volunteers are required to supervise. Please contact the club office.

Fingallians Club Notes

Senior Football Championship: Fingallians v Clontarf, Saturday, August 28 in The Naul at 4.30pm.
Diary Date: Senior ladies football championship final: Friday, September 10: Fingallians v Ballyboden St Enda’s in Parnell Park at 8pm.
Junior hurlers beat O’Toole’s in the junior A championship and are now in the quarter-final draw.
All qualifying members who wish to be included in a draw for tickets for the All Ireland hurling final, Tipperary v Kilkenny please leave you name at the bar prior to Thursday, September 2.
Congratulations to Ann Marie Tornsey who won a silver medal at the National Community Games in the Shot Putt.

Change of date: Fingallians Golf Society captain`s prize golf outing takes place at Turvey Golf Club on Friday, September 17. Tee times are from 12.30pm to 2.45 pm. Total cost, including prizes and four-course dinner is €45. All members and visitors welcome. For all enquiries, please contact eoin.cullen@aviva.ie

Fingallians Club Notes

Members are asked to show their support for the senior football team with two important league games this week against Templeogue Synge St and Kilmacud Crokes.
The club are implementing a satellite academy in the local community. This will involve five weeks of coaching in four regions of Swords. Coaching in these areas will take place on a weekly basis for five weeks with the assistance of adult footballers, hurlers, ladies’ footballers and volunteers. This will be followed by the annual club seven-a-side and will also lead into the recommencement of Fingallians Academy in September after the summer break. The weekends PJ Troy U-13 football tournament was a great success. St Vincent’s won the overall with Fins winning their group. Over 200 players from nine Division 1 clubs took part.
Congratulations to Peter Murtagh on completing his first Iron Man in Nice, France on Saturday. The race included 3.9km swim, 180km cycle through the mountains and to finish, a full marathon – 26 miles and 385 yards.  http://ironmanlive.com/tracking.race=france&year=2010
Lotto: Numbers drawn were 5, 14, 20, 27 and 31. There was no winner, with next week’s jackpot now €2,253.

Fingallians Club Notes

Fingallians wishes all its members and friends a very happy Easter.
Well done to all those that helped with this year’s successful Easter camp sponsored by VHI Swiftcare. Over 250 kids attended, with a special thank you to the FCA for the use of their hall.

Fingallians Club Notes

THE Annual Awards Night 2010 is on this Saturday, March 27. Tickets are still available from the club bar. Anyone wishing to book a table, please email stephaniefrickard@yahoo.com
There were wins this weekend for the U-10A, U-11, U-12A, U-12B, Senior and Junior 7 footballers. The Junior 4 hurlers started the league with a deserved win against Lucan, with five of their squad missing, playing with Fingal hurlers. Finally, the U-9A and U-9Bs drew.
Registration for this year’s Easter camp will take place this Friday, March 26 from 7pm to 9pm at the clubhouse. The camp takes place from Monday, March 29 to Thursday, April 1.
This is the last chance for members to vote on the Club Person of the Year. Please email fingallians@gmail.com or send your nomination in writing to the club secretary.
Any new members who require their membership card, can request it by emailing fingallians@gmail.com or contact the club any morning from 9.30am to 12.30pm to arrange collection.

Fingallians Club Notes

THE first trophy of the year arrived back in Swords on Sunday evening as the ladies won the International Tournament they competed in over in The Hague (Dan Hag), Holland.
Congratulations to the U-9B, U-10A, U-10B, U-11A, U-12B in hurling and U-14 boys, senior, junior 6 and U-14 girls footballers on wins over the weekend.
St Patrick’s Week Entertainment: Saturday, March 20 Six Nations Triple Crown Showdown, Ireland v Scotland on the big screen at 5.00pm.
Discounted tickets offer for this year’s awards night has been extended until March 20. Please contact your manager, the club bar or email the club fingallians@gmail.com for tickets.
