Irish doubles duo win British F16 Futures event

CASTLEKNOCK’S James McGee and Rathfarnham’s Barry King produced the title winning performance they have been threatening for the past few weeks as they claimed the Great Britain F16 Futures doubles title in Cardiff last Saturday.

The pair reached the quarter finals of the Great Britain F15 Futures in Glasgow and the semi-finals of the F30 Futures in Italy in October since banding together and their understanding continues to grow.

As third seeds, they fought through a competitive British field in the Cardiff event on the hard courts, beating British duo Tim Bradshaw and Alexendre Slabinsky in the final 6-4, 7-6.
