Ballinteer CS host Leinster handball finals

bcshandballThe Leinster schools’ Olympic Handball finals were held last week in Ballinteer Community School.

The Under-17 final between Ballinteer Community School and Drimnagh Castle was “a game of heart and soul, passion and will to win”, according to BCS coach, Lorraine Gallagher. It was a very close contest, which went to extra time and penalties. Drimnagh Castle beat BCS 3-1 on penalties.

After a cautious start in the Under-15 final, with defenders on both sides working hard, BCS eventually beat Drimnagh Castle 26-20.

Olympic handball is relatively new to BCS. According to Lorraine Gallagher, “Handball brings out the best in players and spectators. It demands a high level of sportsmanship and fair play.”
